Two people were killed and a third was injured when two vehicles collided head-on, on the N2 between King William’s Town and Peddie on Friday morning.
Eastern Cape Transport Department spokesperson Unathi Bhinqose says the accident happened shortly before six am and that two victims of the crash were declared dead on the scene.
Bhinqose says the driver of a Mercedes Benz sustained minor injuries but that a man and a woman in the Toyota Tazz were killed on impact.
It’s alleged that reckless and negligent driving were the main contributing factors.
A culpable homicide docket has been opened at the King William’s Town police station for further investigation.
