Two people were killed, and three others sustained serious injuries, in a head-on collision between a bakkie and a car on the N2 between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown on Sunday night.
Netcare 911's Chris Botha says two people in the bakkie died on impact.
He says two German tourists and another woman sustained serious injuries.
Botha says the injured were stabilised at the scene, and taken to various hospitals in Port Elizabeth.
The cause of the accident is not known, and police are investigating.
