At least two people have been killed in separate road accidents in the Eastern Cape.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell says in the first accident on Thursday afternoon, one person was killed in a head-on collision on the R-61 between Graaff-Reinet and Aberdeen.
He says in the second accident, one person was also killed in a head-on collision on the N-2 at Kinkelbos between Port Elizabeth and Nanaga on Thursday evening.
Bramwell says one driver apparently overtook a vehicle, and collided with an oncoming car.
He says the driver of one of the vehicles died instantly, while the driver of the other vehicle and two passengers were taken to hospital in a serious condition.
