Two people were killed and one sustained serious injuries in an accident on the N2 near Butterworth on Friday evening.
Eastern Cape provincial transport spokesperson, Unathi Binqose says a VW Polo with 3 occupants was travelling from Butterworth towards East London, when the driver lost control in the Kei-cuttings.
He says the vehicle left the road and plunged into bushes.
Two people died on the scene, and one person was rushed to hospital.
Binqose says speeding contributed to the accident.
Kei Bridge police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
