Detectives in Port Elizabeth are looking for four men who broke into a house in Kleinskool on Tuesday night.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the occupant and two friends heard voices outside their shack in Wimmer Street and the complainent went to investigate.
She says he saw the four men, one with a firearm, standing outside the locked gate. The suspects demanded entry but the owner refused.
Naidu says the suspects then broke a window and gained entry to the house.
One suspect grabbed a nearby pot with boiling water and threw it towards a 36-year-old victim, whilst a 38-year-old man was shot in the mouth.
Naidu says a 23-year-old female was hit over the head with a DVD player.
The men left with four phones, the DVD player and a sound system.
Two of the victims were taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating a case of house robbery and more charges will be added.
