Two men will appear in the Beaufort West magistrate's court on Thursday, after being found in posession of mandrax tablets worth more than R800 000.
Police spokesperson, captain Malcolm Pojie, says the men, aged 48 and 53, were arrested by members of the Central Karoo dog unit following a tip-off.
He says they stopped a truck en route from Johannesburg to Cape Town, and found 14 000 mandrax tablets in a box in the truck.
Western Cape police commissioner, Arnoe Lamoer, praised the police members for their ongoing efforts to stop the influx of drugs into the province.
