Eastern Cape police have arrested nearly 200 people since the start of the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown.
Spokesperson, Captain Mali Govender says arrests were made for various crimes, including possession of suspected stolen property, assault, theft, shoplifting, attempted robbery, drunk driving, business robbery and possession of dagga.
She says amongst those arrested over the weekend, were a 25 year old woman and an 18 year old man for possession of dagga and mandrax.
Govender says police confiscated 672 mandrax tablets with a street value of more than R70 000.
The suspects are due to appear in the Grahamstown magistrates court soon.
