Two men have died in a hail of bullets after a group of unknown gunmen opened fire at them outside a fast-food outlet in Kwanobuhle in Kariega.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beete identified the deceased as Thulani January and Sibahle Nkala, both 23, from New Brighton in Gqeberha.
He said they stopped at the fast-food outlet at about 9 pm on Monday evening, and as they got out of their blue Toyota Tazz, the suspects approached and opened fire.
Beetge said both men sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their upper bodies and died on the scene.
The motive for the murders is unknown at this stage.
Beetge said the case is being investigated by the Provincial Organised Crime Investigation (POCI) team in Gqeberha.
