Police confirmed that two firearms were found inside the vehicle which plunged down the cliff at Voëlklip near Herolds Bay in George on Saturday.
The bodies of two women, both aged 75, were retrieved from the wreckage of a white Mazda in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The vehicle went over the cliff at about 7 PM on Saturday.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies says they cannot confirm if the firearms were used during the incident.
He says a post mortem will be conducted on the bodies of the two women to determine their cause of death.
The identities of the deceased have not yet been released.
