A 30-year-old man who was taken in for questioning on Saturday in connection with the abduction of a man from his workshop in Butterworth on Thursday has been arrested.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Sibongile Soci says he has been linked to the crime and charged with kidnapping.
He will appear in the Butterworth Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Soci says police found the 33-year-old kidnapped man walking alone in a road near Ngqamakhwe on Saturday.
She says police found his abandoned vehicle nearby on Friday.
Police did not supply the media with the name of the victim, but he was identified on social media as Schalk van der Merwe.
On Thursday, police issued an alert after he was forced into his Audi A3 by several armed men.
Soci says his mother was at the scene during the incident but was not harmed.
She says the investigation continues.
