Two female teenagers, aged 15 and 19, were among four people arrested by Gqeberha police for business robbery and the theft of a motor vehicle from a dealership.
Police Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg said two men aged 25 and 27, will join the teens in the dock on Monday.
They were arrested on Thursday by Mount Road members following a high-speed chase after the Red Audi A3 they had been spotted in was circulated as stolen.
Police forced the vehicle to a stop on the N2 near Deal Party where they found seven occupants in the car. During the search of the vehicle, the members confiscated a replica firearm.
Janse Van Rensburg said two other men and a woman were not linked to the theft of the car and the subsequent robbery at a petrol station in Cape Road and were released.
“The two male suspects will be charged with business robbery, theft of a motor vehicle, and the possession of suspected stolen property. The 15-year-old female will be charged with business robbery and the 19-year-old woman for the possession of suspected stolen property,” she said.
