Two people were killed in two separate accidents on the N2 in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday.
Spokesperson for Provincial traffic Charles Bramwell says the first accident was shortly before 7 am when the driver of a truck lost control and collided with a White Datsun.
The accident happened on the N2 between East London and Butterworth in the Kei Cuttings area.
One person in the truck died and another was injured.
In the second accident a 24-year-old woman died when the vehicle she was travelling in lost control while negotiating a bend. It is alleged that the vehicle had a tyre burst.
Bramwell says 2 adults were hospitalised and a baby left unharmed.
The second accident happened between East London and Mthatha in the Armada cuttings area.
