Spokesperson, Captain Jackson Manatha says a 71-year-old man, who is also a sub-headman of a village was shot multiple times in his chest on Sunday, moments after answering his front door.
He said in the second incident an 85-year-old woman was found burnt to death in her house.
Family members became concerned when they last saw her on Saturday. Her burnt body was found inside her house.
