Passenger succumbs to wounds following N2 accident

The death toll in Saturday morning's accident on the N2 near Butterworth has risen to two.

According to Provincial traffic, a Sedan with two people on board collided head-on with a truck at about half-past four on Saturday morning.

The 25-year-old driver was declared dead on the scene and his 35-year-old passenger was rushed to a hospital in Butterworth.

Police Spokesperson Captain Jackson Manatha said the passenger died from his injuries the following day.

The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation and the names of the victims have not yet been released.
