'Hit and run motorist' hands himself over following death of PE cyclist

Police in Port Elizabeth have released the name of the cyclist who was killed in a hit and run accident on Sunday morning.

Police Spokesperson Captain Johan Rheeder said the 37-year-old Mzwinale Bulo was cycling in Walmer just before 5 am when he was killed on the corner of Heugh Road and 8th Avenue.

He said the motorist fled the scene but eventually handed himself over to police later in the day.

He is expected to appear in court soon on a charge of culpable homicide and fleeing the scene of an accident.
