Two suspects have been arrested in King William's Town for the possession of drugs with an estimated street value of R100 000.
Police spokesperson, Captain Siphokazi Mawisa, said the two, aged 19 and 35, and were arrested in Cwayi Street, in Ginsberg on Thursday morning.
She said police became suspicious of two men in a Fiat Uno and stopped the vehicle to search it.
Mawisa said police discovered a shopping bag filled with a thousand mandrax tablets on the passenger's seat.
"They were immediately arrested and charged with possession of drugs. The vehicle was confiscated and police have determined that it was not stolen however it belongs to a person in Alice," she said.
The suspects are expected to appear before the King Williams Magistrate’s Court soon
