Eastern Cape police are mourning the loss of 2 members in accidents.
Police commissioner, lieutenant-general Celiwe Binta, says constable Ndumiso Makhwenkwe was killed in an accident near Mount Frere on Sunday.
He was off duty at the time.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated.
In the second incident a policeman was killed when his police bakkie collided with a luxury German car on the Dordrecht road on Saturday.
The driver of the car was arrested on charges of culpable homicide and drunken driving.
Police said the motorist also has two other drunk driving cases pending against him.
