The two major Eastern Cape airports have made it to the top ten list of the best airports in Africa.
East London was placed at number five and Port Elizabeth seventh.
Three other South African airports - those in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban - have been named in the first three positions, with those in Bloemfontein, Mauritius, Cairo, Seychelles and Addis Abeba also in the top ten, selected among scores of airports on the continent.
The global 2015 World Airport Awards results were made public on Thursday and the awards ceremony will be held in Paris, France, on Thursday evening.
Johannesburg's O.R. Tambo International features at number 24 on the overall best 100 airports' list, followed by Cape Town on number 26.
Singapore's Changi airport has, for the second year in a row, been named as the world's best airport.
The choice was based on a survey among more than 13-million passengers at 550 airports during a 12 month period.
