Eastern Cape police say two pensioners have been found murdered in Ngcobo.
A task team has been established to investigate a possible link between the two murders.
Police spokesperson Mzukisi Fatyela says a 73 year old woman was found strangled in her home in Manzana where she lived alone. She may have also be raped.
In a nearby village a 77 year old man was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Thursday night. Fatyela says the assailants fired through the window. Four empty cartridges were found on the scene. No arrest have yet been made.
