Two die in PE prison brawl

Two awaiting trial prisoners were killed in a suspected gang brawl in St Albans prison outside Port Elizabeth.

Correctional Services provincial spokesperson, Zama Feni, says the incident happened in Medium A awaiting trial centre.

He says 57 awaiting detainees where injured in the incident.

Algoa FM News hear learnt that 19 injured prisoners had to be hospitalised.

No further details are available as yet.
