Two people were killed in accidents in the Eastern Cape on Wednesday as rain lashed large parts of the province.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Charles Bramwell said one person was killed in a collission on the N-10 between Cradock and Stuttherheim on Wednesday afternoon.
"This afternoon (Weds) we had an accident on the N-10 between Cradock and Port Elizabeth. It involved a Department of Health mini-bus and a Corsa LDV. We have one fatality, one serious and six slight injuries," he said.
Bramwell said all the injured people were taken to hospital in Cradock.
Meanwhile, one person was also killed in a five-car pile-up on the N-2 freeway near the John Tallant off-ramp in Port Elizabeth.
The cause of the late afternoon crash is still under investigation.
Meanwhile, three suspected carjackers are in hospital in East London after crashing a car on the N-6 near Stutterheim also on Wednesday.
Bramwell said it's allged that the driver lost control on a curve and crashed. They are under police guard in an East London hospital.
Bramwell said it's believed that the vehicle may have been hijacked in the Free State.
