A Port Elizabeth security guard has been killed after being shot during a robbery at Motherwell liquor shop early on Tuesday night.
Police spokesperson, Constable Mncedi Mbombo, says a robbery suspect was also wounded after being shot by the guard
Mbombo says three suspects, one of whom was armed, robbed the liquor store in Mnyulu Street.
In the process a 45-year-old security guard was shot and killed while a 35-year-old suspect was wounded.
He is currently under police guard in hospital.
His two accomplices are still at large.
Mbombo says police are investigating a case of murder and one case of business robbery.
