The Port Elizabeth Magistrate's Court has summoned two witnesses in the case against the 50-year-old doctor who allegedly shot his estranged wife in August.
Magistrate Ramona van Vuuren has summoned the Head of the hospital and a senior pharmacist at St Albans Prison to testify in the bail application of Mkhuseli Boto.
Boto was arrested on a charge of attempted murder in August after he allegedly shot and wounded his wife in the jaw at their home Brighton Street in Summerstrand.
Van Vuuren says she needs critical information from the two before deciding on the application.
The witnesses are due to appear before the court on the 22nd of October and the accused remains in custody.
