Two police officers attached to the Kamesh police station in Kariega have been arrested on charges of sexual assault and assault.
Spokesperson for the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) Robbie Raburabu says the 41-year-old Constable and 42-year-old Sergeant from Kamesh Visible Policing, were arrested on Thursday morning.
He says they allegedly assaulted and sexually assaulted a 37-year-old victim earlier this month on the 10th of July.
The officers are expected to appear in the Kariega Magistrates Court on Friday.
IPID released no further information on the assault.
