Two suspects have been arrested following an attack on a police officer in Knysna.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Chris Spies says the victim was attacked in the Knysna Central Business District on Friday.
He says the police officer sustained serious injuries and had to be rushed to hospital by a member of the public.
The suspects, aged 21 and 22, were arrested later in the day and are both facing charges of attempted murder and assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
They will remain in custody until their first court appearance in the Knysna Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
