Port Elizabeth police have arrested two suspects for being in possession of a variety of drugs valued at more than 100-thousand rand.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the arrests were made early on Thursday morning by members of the Visible Gang Intervention Team as well as police members from Algoa Park.
She says the suspects, who were walking in Bethelsdorp Road in Missionvale, fled after spotting the approaching police.
Naidu says they dropped a packet containing Tik, Mandrax tablets and a quantity of dagga.
She says some of the drugs will now be sent for testing to determine if it contains a drug known as Flakka.
Two suspects managed to evade arrest.Naidu says five people were arrested in the Northern Areas over the past 12 hours for drug-related cases.
