Police in Mossel Bay have arrested two people following the attack and robbery of an 80-year-old woman from a local retirement village on Sunday.
The Victim, who lives in the Santos Haven Retirement Village, woke up on Sunday morning at about 5.40 am where she found two robbers with balaclavas inside her home.
Police Spokesperson Warrant Officer Pieter Koekemoer says the victim told them that the men were already busy moving stolen goods from her house.
When they spotted her she was beaten in her face before tying her hands with a sock and covering her mouth.
Koekemoer says they worked through the night and followed up on all leads when they eventually made an arrested in a house in Asla Park at about 5.30 am on Tuesday.
Police believe they have a solid case as good fingerprints were found on the crime scene and stolen goods were found in their possession.
Both men, in their 20's are being detained at the Mossel Bay holding cells and will appear in court on Thursday.
