Twenty taxis to blame for early morning traffic chaos in Gqeberha

Traffic in Nelson Mandela Bay came to a standstill on Thursday morning after 20 taxis were blocking off strategic points on Standford Road.

Police Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says Public Order Police responded and stun grenades were fired.

She says eight taxis were also impounded.

Traffic Chief Warren Prins says most roads are open and traffic is flowing again.
