Twelve taxis seized in Oudtshoorn for non compliance

Police in Oudtshoorn have seized 12 taxis during a joint operation.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Gretchen Micheals says they conducted an operation with members of the George public order Police unit and provincial traffic on Thursday.

Micheals says they checked the roadworthiness of taxis and permits were also scanned.

The 12 taxis that were seized did not comply with the necessary road traffic laws.

A total of 21 fines worth more than R65 000 were also issued.
