Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of hijacking after a 34-year-old driver of a pharmaceutical distribution company was hijacked while waiting to make a delivery at a Pharmacy in Mount Croix on Friday morning.
Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, says he is believed to have been waiting for his passenger before being approached by two men in Westbourne Road at nine o clock.
She says they forced their way into the vehicle from both sides and drove off with the Nissan NP 300 delivery vehicle.
The driver, however, managed to jump out of the vehicle unharmed.
Janse van Rensburg says an eyewitness further chased after the suspects and was able to block the van in Newington Street in Central.
The suspects, however, managed to flee from the scene and nothing was stolen.
