Port Elizabeth police are investigating a culpable homicide case after a 58-year-old man was killed after he ran into a taxi in North End.
Spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, says he was running down Elizabeth road at 5 am and ran into the taxi as he crossed Govan Mbeki Avenue.
Eyewitnesses alleged that the deceased was running from robbers but the allegations could not be confirmed by the police.
Janse Van Rensburg says he died at the scene.
His identity will only be released once the next of kin have been informed.
