Health Minister, Dr Zweli Mkhize, has launched a Scooter Project in East London, as part of the armoury in the fight against Covid19.
Mkhize returned to the province this week to get an update on the provincial containment measures and to inspect health facilities in the province.
He says the scooters, which are fitted with a special side-car provides health workers with a versatile form of transport for patients or to deliver medication to rural communities.
Minister Mkhize also inspected a fleet of new mobile clinics that will be used across the Eastern Cape.
According to the latest Covid19 figures 178 people have died from the virus in the EC.
