Police in Willowmore have arrested a 54-year-old truck driver after members found 23 bags of dagga hidden in the back of his truck.
A Spokesperson Captain Bradley Rawlinson says the arrest was made during a roadblock on Friday morning on the N9 just outside town.
He says the dagga weighed 572kg and was valued at just over R200 000.00
The truck driver is being detained at the Willowmore Police Station and will appear in court soon.
Rawlinson says they stopped and searched 107 vehicles, 348 people and issued nine traffic fines.
He says the roadblock formed part of their Safer Festive Season Campaign.
