Kariega police have arrested a 40-year-old truck driver who allegedly failed to stop following a fatal accident.
Police said on Wednesday that a mini-bus taxi had crashed after colliding with a truck, which did not stop at the accident scene near the town.
Spokesperson, Captain Gerda Swart, says two people died in the accident.
She says the driver was arrested later in the day and his vehicle, which was transporting scrap metal, was impounded.
Swart says he will appear in court on Friday on charges that include culpable homicide and failing to stop at an accident scene.
