Truck driver killed in accident near Butterworth

Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, after a 40-year old truck driver was killed in an accident on the N-2 near Butterworth on Sunday morning.

Spokesperson, Capt Jackson Manatha says the truck was transporting bags of sugar in the direction of East London when the accident happened.

He says the truck driver died at the scene.

Manatha says no other vehicles were involved.

The cause of the accident is not yet known.
