Truck driver in court for possession of "khat"

 A truck driver is appearing in the Beaufort West Magistrates' Court  on Tuesday, for the possession of "khat" worth more than R200 000.

The truck, which was travelling from Johannesburg to Cape Town, was stopped on the N1 and searched, and police found the drugs in ten boxes in the luggage compartment.

The drugs were valued at R206 500 and the 33-year-old driver was arrested on the scene.
