Port Elizabeth police have confirmed that a man arrested in Booysens Park on Sunday in connection with a triple murder earlier this month has been released.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says this is because there's insufficient evidence against the 34-year-old man.
However, she says the investigation into the shooting in a house in Capulet Street in Booysens Park is still continuing.
The victims were eight-year-old Ruaan Willemse, Deacon van Rooyen (16) and Chadwin Calvert (17) who died in a hail of bullets.
Four other people were wounded in the mass shooting and admitted to hospital.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, said on the 2nd of November two armed suspects kicked open the door to the house and approached a 26-year-old man, snatching a gold chain from his neck.
She said the men took two cell phones before opening fire on the occupants inside the house.
The Bethelsdorp task team members were informed to assist in tracing the suspect. Several houses were searched over the weekend which led to the arrest of the man and another 20-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a murder case in July.
Naidu says both are affiliated to the Satan's gang.
The search for the second suspect linked to the Capulet Street shooting is still continuing.
