The Culpable Homicide trial of a taxi driver accused of killing two young women in Port Elizabeth is expected to start on Thursday.
Exactly ten months ago to the day, the 28-year-old Yibanathi Ndike, allegedly jumped a red robot in Kempston Road in January, before colliding with a light motor vehicle and then fleeing the scene.
The victims, 19-year-old Micayla Victor and the 21-year-old Celine De Ridder, died on the scene.
Another passenger in the car was injured and taken to a hospital.
The women both worked at the control room at Atlas and were on their way to work.
Ndike allegedly fled the scene of the accident but later turned himself in.
Family members of the victims on Thursday went to place flowers at the crash site, before heading to court.
