The trial against the alleged mastermind in the murder of a couple from Great Brak River is expected to start in the Mossel Bay High Court on Monday.
The 27-year-old Steven Lekoro fled to Lesotho shortly after the murder and managed to evade police for almost two years.
The 72-year-old Tewie Human and his 62-year-old wife Eurika were brutally murdered in their home in June of 2016.
Tewie's body was found in his garage and that of his wife in her bedroom.
They were murdered with a panga and knife respectively.
Lekoro worked for the Humans at their home in Sandhoogte Road. He was arrested in Bloemfontein in November last year, following an investigation in conjunction with Interpol. Lekoro's friend, the 27-year-old Thamsanqa Sishuba is currently serving two life sentences for his part in the murders.
He was already convicted in September last year.
