Eastern Cape Transport MEC, Thandiswa Marawu, will sign a memorandum of understanding in Port Elizabeth on Thursday with the Transport Education and Training Authority.
The agreement will lead to the training of 500 Eastern Cape youth to obtain their Codes 10 and 14 drivers licenses, and the additional training of 40 youths in diesel mechanics.
MEC Marawu will also launch a skills development project and issue driver's licenses to people living with disabilities.
The Bhisho Transport Ministry says eight of the ten disabled individuals will receive learner's licenses while the remaining ten will receive their driver's licenses.
Meanwhile, the CEO of the Transport Education Training Authority, Maphefo Anno Frempong, says the agreement that they have with the Eastern Cape, goes beyond the training disabled people.
She says they're also trying to assist unemployed graduates through an agreement with the SA Graduate Development Agency.
