Eastern Cape MEC for Transport, Roads and Public Works, Thandiswa Marawu, says she is seriously considering to introduce a 24 hour shift system for traffic officers in order to provide safe passage for motorists on the province's roads.
This follows Saturday's accident between a schoolbus and a minibus taxi on the R61 between Cradock and Graaff-Reinet.
Provincial Department of Transport spokesperson, Ncedo Kumbaca says MEC Marawu will join the Deputy Minister of Transport Sindisiwe Chikunga today in a visit to the accident victims at Cradock Hospital and the parents of school children who died in the accident.
