Tragedy befalls Graaff-Reinet family

A Graaff-Reinet family suffered a terrible tragedy this week when a mother accidentally reversed over her two-year-old child.

Police said the incident happened in Spandauville on Thursday afternoon.

Spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, said it is alleged that the mother reversed her car not knowing that her little boy was behind the vehicle.

He was rushed to hospital but died on the way.

His name has not yet been released.
