Three wounded in PE gang shootings

Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of attempted murder after a 16-year old boy was shot and wounded in Helenvale.

Police spokesperson, warrant officer Alwin Labans, says the boy was walking in Hartebees Street on Friday afternoon when he was approached by two suspects.

Labans says four shots were fired at the boy and he sustained wounds in his right leg.

No arrests have been made but the suspects are known to the police.

Meanwhile, police are searching for three suspects following a drive by shooting in Saltlake.

Labans says a 23-year old and 30 year-old man were sitting in a car in Hitch Street also on Friday when the suspects in a white VW Polo drove by and fired eight shots at them.

The two men sustained minor injuries and a case of attempted murder is being investigated

Labans says both incidents are gang related.
