Police in Port St Johns are investigating a triple murder and three attempted murders after a shooting incident at the Qhubuswayo locality on Friday night.
Spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the deceased were three teenagers between 17 and 18.
She says police were attending to a complaint in the area shortly after 7 pm when they heard gunshots.
Colonel Naidu says police drove in the direction the shots were coming from and saw a group of men running.
She said when police arrived on the scene they found the bodies of two men, a female, and three people who sustained injuries from gunshot wounds.
The motive is unknown and the suspects are still at large.
