Three rhino have been dehorned in Kariega Game Reserve near Kenton-on-Sea in the Eastern Cape.
Police investigators have been dispatched to investigate.
Hawks spokesperson, colonel Macintosh Polela, said rangers on patrol this morning found the rhinos.
"I can confirm that Rangers at Kariega Game farm were on patrol at about 7.30 this morning when they noticed 3 de-horned Rhino's. We can confirm that one Rhino is dead and two are being treated by a vet and are in a critical condition " Polela said
