Three perish in EC accident

Three people died and seven were seriously injured in a head-on collision between a mini-bus taxi and a truck on the road between Mthatha and Mqanduli on Wednesday afternoon.

The Department of Transport said all the victims were in the mini-bus.

"The truck driver escaped unharmed," said spokesperson, Unathi Binqose.

He added that the injured passengers were rushed to a nearby hospital.

"A culpable homicide docket has been opened," Binqose said.
