Police in Port Elizabeth are investigating three murders which appear to be well-planned hits.
Police Spokesperson Captain Andre Beetge says the three victims were shot and killed in the New Brighton and Motherwell areas on Wednesday night.
In the first incident, 39-year-old Vuyolethu Xana was shot numerous times moments after leaving his home in Makwela street in New Brighton.
In the second incident, shots were heard just before 8 pm by residents in Magqabi street in Motherwell.
Captain Beetge says police searched the area and found the bodies of a man and a woman lying next to their bed in a flatlet.
The man was identified as 31-year-old Sizwe Sithole while the woman's identity is not known at this stage.
Sithole was shot several times in the head while the woman, believed to be his girlfriend, sustained a gunshot in her lower body.
Beetge says the motives are unknown as no valuables were taken from the victims.
