Police in Gqeberha are hunting for the suspects involved in the murder of three men and the attempted murder of two others during the early hours of Sunday morning in Walmer Township.
Colonel Priscilla Naidu says that at around 3.30 am, Walmer Police responded to a complaint of a shooting in Sigcawu Street where they found three men lying deceased in the road with multiple gunshot wounds.
A 35-year-old man was founded wounded in the leg along with an 18-year-old who'd been shot in the leg and shoulder.
Colonel Naidu says the teenager had been shot while standing with the deceased outside a gate in Sigcawu Street.
A white Quantum minibus drove past and the occupants then opened fire on them.
It appears that the 35-year old was in a nearby shack and was struck by a stray bullet.
One of the deceased was identified as 29-year-old Lonwabo Makeleni from Songololo Street in Walmer, while the identity of the other two deceased, aged 18 to 20, is not yet known.
The motive for the shootings are yet to be established and the suspects are unknown at this stage.
