Four people were killed in a motor vehicle accident on the corners of the R75 (Uitenhage Road) and Johnson Road - also known as the Vista crossing - shortly before midnight on Saturday.
Captain Andre Beetge says a Nissan Almera with four occupants was driving along the R75 and turned at the crossing to go into Johnson road when the accident happened.
The sedan collided head on with a FAW truck that was traveling on the R75 in the opposite direction.
All 4 occupants of the Nissan Almera - two men and two women - died on the scene.
Captain Beetge says police are looking for the driver of the truck who abandoned his vehicle and fled the accident scene.
A case of culpable homicide is being investigated by Kwazakele Police.
