Nelson Mandela Bay Executive Mayor, Zanoxolo Wayile, has expressed the Metro's shock and sadness at the death of three councillors who were killed in an accident last night.
Wayile will address a media briefing later this morning.
Algoa FM News has learnt that the councillors, representing all parties in the Metro, were returning from a training programme in East London when their hired vehicle hit a cow and overturned last night.
All the deceased, two women and a man, were ANC councillors.
Twelve others were injured, 10 of them seriously.
They have been admitted to various hospitals in Nelson Mandela Bay.
DA caucus leader in the Municipality, Leon de Villiers, has also expressed his shock at the tragedy.
